Mothers' Union
The Mothers’ Union is a Christian organisation with more than a million members in 70 countries, united by our shared belief in family values.
Its members support family life where there is a need within their own communities and are involved in a diversity of activities from worldwide literacy development to parenting projects in the UK.
The Mothers’ Union are involved in campaigning and lobbying on worldwide issues, such as parental rights; international debt relief and child poverty. They are pleased to work in partnership with organisations such as Hope UK; the United Nations and various other ecumenical groups.
Here in Portishead the Mothers’ Union have a two meetings each month open to all: 7.30pm on the second Wednesday at St Nicholas; 2.30pm on the fourth Thursday at St Peter’s along with a corporate Communion 10.30am on the second Thursday at St Peter’s.
They also enjoy “Fellowship and Food” at various fund-raising events and we participate in services and other events such as prayer days and retreats in our parish and deanery.
